El Nido is located in the north of the island of Palawan and is part of the Bacuit Archipelago. It is characterized by an overwhelming nature in the form of beaches, chalk cliffs and an unnatural blue sea in the lagoons. When you get to the lagoons, you realize how beautiful our earth can be.
El Nido has only recently been discovered by tourists and the electricity and hotels have not been adapted to this. There is no electricity for a few hours a day and hotels are being built. Yet the destination is becoming quite popular and you are certainly not alone in the lagoons.
Funny detail: 'El Nido' is Spanish for 'The Nest'. Many nests of the Balinsasayo are found in the area ... the nests that can be used for the very well-known bird nest soup.
