Cebu City is the fourth largest city in the Philippines and its inhabitant number is slightly larger than Amsterdam. Great wealth and enormous poverty alternate here and that is sometimes heart tearing to see.
This was a popular area during Spanish rule and you can see it reflected in the streets: the Sto. Niño cathedral and fort San Pedro (see photo) are typical remains from that time.
The adjacent Mactan Peninsula offers an abundance of luxury resorts and from here you can also experience good diving trips. Enjoy the beautiful beaches and resorts.
