From Manila it is a solid drive by car to the rice terraces of Banaue in the Cordillage Mountains. The rice terraces were built centuries ago by the Ifugao peoples and they are still in use. The sight is overwhelming and lets you forget the effort of the long drive.
From Banaue you can easily reach the town of Sagada and here you can see the 'burial' way of the dead: the coffins of the deceased are attached to the mountain slopes.
A visit to the rice terraces takes some time due to the large distance: take at least 4 days to do this.
